Once you've completed our vetting process you will be invited to join our network of qualified, vetted guards! Download our app and complete our onboarding process. Credential upload, profile and bio, and preferences.

What is OnGuard and how does it work for guards?
OnGuard connects licensed, vetted guards with real jobs from top-tier clients and security firms. Once you’re approved, you can receive shift opportunities directly through the platform, accept jobs that fit your schedule, and get paid reliably — without chasing down checks.
What types of jobs are available on OnGuard?
Opportunities include unarmed and armed guard work, executive protection, construction sites, private events, retail, corporate offices, and more. You’ll be able to view jobs based on your qualifications, licenses, and availability.
How do I get started?
Start by applying on our website or app. You’ll complete a brief qualification questionnaire, fill out an application, and upload your credentials. If you pass our screening process, you’ll be invited to an interview. Once fully vetted you will be added to the network and start receiving job notifications.
What documents or credentials do I need?
Requirements vary by state and job type, but most roles require a valid guard card/license, identification, resume, and references. Executive protection and armed roles may require additional permits or specialized training.
How are guards vetted?
Every applicant goes through a multi-step vetting process:
1. Qualification Questionnaire
2. Credential & background review (licenses, resumes, references)
3. Live interview or group screening
Only guards who meet our standards for professionalism, communication, and reliability are approved.
How does scheduling work?
Once approved, you’ll receive shift notifications that match your qualifications. You can accept or decline based on your availability. The first qualified guard to accept gets the job — it’s that simple.
How does payment work?
Guards are paid through direct deposit and considered W-2 employees. Payment is processed quickly after shift completion — no waiting weeks or chasing payment.
Can I choose where and when I work?
Yes. You control your schedule and only take shifts that work for you. You can also favorite clients or locations you enjoy working with, and avoid those that don’t fit your preferences.
